Students learned about Aboriginal art and dot-painting. Students learned that the gecko is a much admired animal in aboriginal culture because of it's ability to regenerate its tail. Students created "dot paintings" using the image of a gecko. First students painted the geckos and background in solid colors. Second, students outlined their geckos to make their shapes stand out. Third, students used sticks to create dots on both the geckos and in the background.
